just a day in the life…

tomorrow I’m working 8 hours straight at the salon again.
regardless of what other people might think about a job like that, It’s exhausting. I get home, my feet hurt from shuffling around, by back hurts from bending over and washing people’s hair, my palms sting from washing bleaching fluid off people and my nails are peeling from all the shampoo. And then I get home, and have my father telling me that I’m too good for a job like that, I should be desking my life away (well, he didn’t say *exactly* that) in some web design firm that utilizes my abilities…yada yada yada. Unfortunately, he won’t understand, so I didn’t try to explain to him that in this point in time I’d rather work twice as hard at a job that is tolerant of the way I look. I can currently dress my way and wear my piercings to work. Later on in life, when I have a family to support, I will find it perfectly acceptable to retire facial piercings for a higher wage. Right now, I’m 20, and saving up to go to school, but I’m not hurrying anywhere, and I’d just like to continue being myself. Even if I’m not working my way up the corporate ladder at the moment, I believe that I can learn valued lessons from every situation and every job I attend.

bored so soon?

yup, this layout has been up for a minimum amount of time and I’ve decided that I’m sick of it. really sick of it. I want something with pink and a much cleaner web usability interface. And a logo. I should get me one of those. *sigh*. My friend is stuck in Tel Aviv and Shay went to get her out of there. I want to go to sleep but I’m going to stay up until he calls and tells me she’s alright and that he’s picked her up. I’m making Tel Aviv sound like a warzone. I should go work on a logo. Yes.

join in on the quest!

Shay is an eightball fanatic, and the staff of deathstarnebula.com (errr…me.) has joined in on the quest for finding him the perfect eightball tattoo. Readers of this website with time on their hands (if you’re a reader of this website, you must have enough time, otherwise you wouldn’t be here but out drinking with your friends) are being asked to help out! So if you’ve got a spare minute or two, aid us in our quest for the perfect eightball illustration. send me your findings, or, if they’re online, post the URL using the the “comments” option underneath this post (you can also use HTML to post the image itself). Let’s go, kiddos, let’s see what you’ve got!

another lazy day, trying to avoid getting into any road-accidents…

today was my first time driving by myself. I was shaking so hard I think I was in tune with the motor. It actually went kinda well, I had a little trouble getting out of my parking spot since I was wearing platforms, other than that I was fine. I drove to pick up Liviu and then we met Koby at some hamburger joint, they’re flying to New York Friday so I gave them the URL for the batcave club and names of a few more places to visit. Tomorrow morning I get to take the good ‘ol bus again, it’s down to Tel Aviv to get my first tattoo. I’m a little bit afraid of the pain, but I can take it, I’m a big girl.

7 hours ’till

good evening, mere mortals.

just another frinday in middle Israel. I pulled myself out of bed at 14:00 this afernoon in order to accompany shay to a small comic book stand at the outdoor mall in kfar-saba, where we met ya’ara. I got myself a copy of SLG’s Smith Brown Jones Halloween special. Tonight it’s to the Lilenblum 25 and tomorrow afternoon my father is making me drive to Jerusalem. unless I do that, he won’t give me the car. I hate the road to Jerusalem. hate it hate it hate it.
